Know the true price for an alignment
All vehicles have several adjustments which are used to set an alignment properly. However, on many cars not all of these adjustments can be made properly without the installation of alignment parts. The type of adjustment and the parts used to make an adjustment (if needed) has an affect on the price of a proper alignment. It is impossible to know for sure what adjustments or what parts are needed to make those adjustments and therefore the price of an alignment without first inspecting the car by installing, setting up alignment measurement equipment and taking the alignment measurements. We have developed an alignment process to ensure that you pay only for the time spent working on your car and get a properly aligned car when we are done. All alignments at our shop start with an alignment inspection. An Alignment Inspection Includes:
Winter Driving TipsAntifreeze - Batteries - Control The winter driving season is here. Freezing temperatures, wet sloppy roads and long slow rides to and from work are almost certain to be in the near future. Winter can be demanding especially on your car. Here are three tips that will help protect you and your car. Antifreeze - Keeps the Engine Cool and You Warm Antifreeze or engine coolant is the life blood of the engine cooling system. It is mixed with water and stored in the radiator, it's primary purpose is to prevent freezing of the water in the radiator. Antifreeze also is the very thing you need to create heat in the car to stay warm and defrost those frozen windows. Several key factors should be kept in mind especially in the winter time.
Batteries - Weak Batteries Will Go Dead In Freezing Temps Batteries do not like cold weather, weak batteries hate it. It is difficult nowdays to tell when a battery is getting weak. More and more we are seeing people caught by surprise with a dead battery. To avoid getting stuck out in the cold with a car that won't start, follow these tips.
Control - Stick To The Road - Stop Straight - See And Be Seen Maintaining control on those wet slippery roads is the most important aspect of winter driving. The tires need to grab the road and the brakes need to stop the car straight. working headlamps, brake lights and windshield wipers make it easy for other drivers to see you and you to see them. These important tips can make the difference between chaos and control.
It takes only a few moments to look things over. Taking the time to inspect things now can save a lot of trouble and a lot of money when the freezing temps and sloppy weather hit.

Ironically, this is where car repairs first go wrong.Right there on the dealer lot, before the first payment is ever made, despite all of the feel good notions of a brand new car purchase, it goes wrong. Very wrong. So wrong that this shiny new car can steal tens of thousands of dollars from you.
There is more to owning a car than simply making car payments. Sure everyone thinks of insurance and gas. But what about maintenance and repairs? Yeah, yeah the salesman says the dealer will perform free maintenance for a period of time and of course there is the bumper to bumper warranty and an extend warranty is available for more money (a waste of money and a subject for another article). But these only cover simple things or things that do not normally wear out. In other words the free maintenance, the bumper to bumper warranty and the extended warranty do not cover items that are suppose to wear out. Items like Tires, Brakes, Batteries Shocks, Struts Wheel Alignment and many other items that have to be replaced as a normal operation of owning a car. Depending on the type of shinny new car purchased, some of the items can exceed the car payment several times over. But no one will ever talk about that on the dealer lot. They will never tell you an oil change for that brand new baby car is $200 dollars each or that replacement tires are $2,000, yes Two Thousand dollars for a set of tires. So if you are investing in a new car here are a few tips to help get off on the right foot. Buy From The Top Five Car Makers Not in any particular order GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota. Why are they the top five? They build the most number of cars. This can save you money with service and repairs. Their popularity means that there are thousands of places to get the car repaired. This competition provides you with dozens of choices for your car care needs and will save you money. There is nothing wrong with many other brands of cars, just keep in mind that they will most likely cost more money to service or repair than the top five car makers. Buy A Model From The Middle All of these car makers have several models. The high end luxury models will cost more to buy and more to service and maintain. Just as bad are the low end models while cheap to buy, many times they are very expensive to repair and service. Stay in the middle of the model line, an average car , with average features will be much more popular and much less to service or repair in the future. Find Out How Much The Tires Cost Often cars are purchased with an appearance package or performance packages with a tire that is some ridiculous size with an even more ridiculous price. The tires will have to be replaced at some point. Most likely before you get the car paid off. Finding out that a set of tires cost $2,000 dollars after the purchase of the car is no fun. Take the time to look and jot down the tire size. Make a few phone calls or visit our online tire selector to see how much those tires will cost when it comes time to replace them. You can check tire price on our web site just follow this link: marlborotire.com/search for tires . Taking these tips into consideration when buying a car will lower your cost per mile and save you thousands of dollars in the long run. EVERY MONTH WITHOUT A CAR PAYMENT SAVES MONEY ! Understanding how powerful this statement is and how much money there is to be saved can not be fully realized without learning some basic hard facts about cars.
The numbers tell a real story. A story that will save money or can cost money. If the average car is $30,000 dollars financed for 72 months (6 years) at $500.00 per month, that person would spend $36,0000 dollars on that car. Yep $6,000 dollars just in interest on the loan. At the end of that 72 months or 6 years of driving at an average of 15,000 miles per year, the car would have 90,000 miles on it. Honestly most 6 year old cars will have many more. If that car were to last the average age of 10 years at 15,000 miles per year, the odometer would read 150,000 miles or more in most cases. The question is... In 6 years do you want to be driving a pile of junk? A car so bad that every mile is a lucky one and you know that another 6 years of $500 dollar a month car payments is just around the corner. -OR- Would you rather be driving a safe, dependable, reliable 10 year old car that you KNOW will get you where you need to go when you want to go? Saving you thousands of dollars in car payments.

It's really frustrating for me, seeing one of the worlds most complicated machines (your car) beat in to the ground with poor repair workmanship, poor quality parts or butchered by someone who doesn't know which end of the screwdriver to hold. Our current customer database started in 1999 and has grown to over 18,000 customers with over 65,000 repair orders. I have seen plenty of senseless situations that cost hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars, often for no good reason other than someone was being cheap. It doesn't have to be this way. A car can be a reliable investment for many years and hundreds of thousands of miles. It is with this blog that I hope to share information on how to protect your automotive investment by using better products, better service, and making better choices.
